Switzerland 2018: End of submission period with a record

The submission period for Switzerland is over!!! 670 songs have been already submitted at the National Broadcaster of Switzerland SRF and according to the announcement it is a new record.

Last time that the country participated in the Grand Final was in 2014 represented bu Selbater. That’s why the Swiss delegation is doing its best this year. And whose better than Christer Bjorkman?

The National Final will take part in 4th of February 2018 with a lot of changes at its format. A jury consisted by 20 members consisting of musicians, representatives of media and fans, will choose the 6 songs that will take part in the National Final. The composers of the 6 songs will be informed in November. SRF in collaboration with the composers will search the 6 voices for the 6 songs.

The winner will be emerged by by televoting (50%) and a National Jury (50%). This will be the 59th Swiss entry in Eurovision. Switzerland has 2 victories one in 1956 with Lys Assia and in 1988 with Celine Dion.

As we already mentioned, the last time Switzerland moved on to the Grand Final Show was in 2014 with Sebalter and Hunter of stars (13th place – 64 points).
