The Netherlands: AVROTROS begins selection process for Eurovision 2022
The Dutch broadcaster, AVROTROS, has started the selection process fot the search for the country’s representative at Eurovision for 2022.
It’s not been more than two days since the lights went out in Rotterdam Ahoy and the Dutch national broadcaster (AVROTROS) has already started the selection process for next year’s Eurovision song contest in Italy.
The Dutch national broadcaster (AVROTROS) has the ambition to remain successful in Europe’s biggest music scene, the Eurovision Song Contest and is pleased to share below the opportunity for artists / songwriters to get in touch with the broadcaster and its selection committee.
The aim of the committee is initially in a participation with preferably modern, but also authentic sound. The song can survive in the competition. The artist to be Dutch who can present a personal song in a special way.

The songs and possible questions can be brought to the attention of the selection committee by sending them directly to the following email address: songfestival@avrotros.nl. The process will be overseen by the head of the Dutch delegation, Lars Lourenco.
Τhe selection committee or AVROTROS will not direct the artist to reach a (final and desired) result. It is expected that the (demo) song of the artist will be brought to the attention of the selection committee at an advanced stage.

Each artist can submit a maximum of 3 best songs, which are considered suitable for the Eurovision Song Contest.
The song has not been released (commercially) before September 1, 2021
Deadline for submission is August 31, 2021
The Netherlands in Eurovision
The Netherlands has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 60 times since making its debut as one of the seven countries at the first contest in 1956, and has missed only four contests so far (1985, 1991, 1995 and 2002).
The Netherlands has won the contest five times, with Corry Brokken in 1957, Teddy Scholten in 1959, Lenny Kuhr in a four-way tie in 1969, Teach-In in 1975 and Duncan Lawrence’s in 2019.
This year the Netherlands represented by Jeangu Macrooy who sang ‘Birth of a new age’ which finished 23rd place with only 11 points.
