The Netherlands: Douwe Bob selected to perform in Stockholm.
Dutch broadcaster Avrotros has announced that Douwe Bob has been internally selected to represent The Netherlands at the forthcoming 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.
Douwe Bob is the first act gone public as a representative for the next Eurovision Contest taking place in Stockholm next May.
He is a composer , songwriter and singer that creates and performs his own songs. Bob at his first statements expressed his enthusiasm that his music will be heard on the stage of the most popular Song contest and considers the whole participation as a very good experience.
Douwe Bob, son of Simon Posthuma, known for his membership of the designer group The Fool, started playing piano at the age of 6, initially concentrating on classical music and jazz. He took up the guitar at age 14. As a singer he was inspired by country, folk and pop music from the 1950’s to the mid 1970’s.In 2012, he participated in the Dutch show De beste singer-songwriter van Nederland.He won the finals and his song “Multicoloured Angels” reached the 17th place in the weekly music chart Dutch Top 40. His debut album, Born In a Storm, was published on 3 May 2013.
In 2014, Douwe Bob became one of the Ambassadors of Freedom for the Bevrijdings Festivals. In January 2015, he published the single “Hold Me”, produced in collaboration with Anouk. In February 2015 Douwe Bob announced his new album Pass It On. The album was released on 15 May 2015 through his new record company Universal Music Group. Check out his latest work:
