Tonight: Albania decides its Eurovision 2020 act and entry with the grand final of Festivali i Këngës 58
The time for Albania to decide its Eurovision 2020 representantive has come as the grand final of Festivali i Këngës 58, is set to take place tonight in Tirana, Albania.
Tonight Europe will see its first song for the 65th Eurovision Song Contest be determined, as the grand final of Festivali i Kenges 58 will select the country’s act and entry for the next contest. After two semi final round and a total of 20 acts ( 10 in each semi final) , 12 acts will give the battle for the golden ticket to Rotterdam.
The 12 finalists are :
- Arilena Ara – Shaj
- Elvana Gjata – Me tana
- Bojken Lako – Malaseen
- Sara Bajraktari – Ajër
- Kamela Islamaj – Më ngjyros
- Era Rusi – Eja merre
- Valon Shehu – Kutia e Pandorës
- Tiri Gjoci – Me gotën bosh
- Robert Berisha – Ajo nuk është unë
- Olta Boka – Botë për dy
- Albërie Hadërgjonaj – Ku ta gjej dikë ta dua
- Gena – Shqiponja e lirë
As every year, the final winner of the Festivali i Këngës is determined 100% by a jury of music experts. However in this year’s edition the Albanian broadcaster invited as members of the jury three non nationals experts from abroad. Among them is Dimitris Kontopoulos, the composer of the Greek entries in ESC 2009 (This Our Night-Sakis Rouvas) and in ESC 2017 (This is love – Demy) and several countries’ entries (Belarus 2007, Ukraine 2008, Russia 2014, 2016, 2019, Αzerbaijan-2013,2018). The other two are Christer Björkman, Swedish , TV& music producer, responsible for the Melodifestivalen since 2002 and Executive Porducer of ESC 2013 and 2016 in Sweden and Felix Bergsson, singer,actor and Head of the Icelandic delegation.
The show will be presented by Alketa Vejsiu while special guest in tonight’s show will be Eleni Foureira, the Cypriot representative at ESC 2018. The show will begin at 20:30 CET and you can watch it here
