Tonight: First semi-final of Serbia’s “Beovizija 2019”

The first semi-final of Serbia’s national selection “Beovizija 2019” will take place tonight. A total of 12 acts will be competing for 6 spots at Sunday’s Grand Final.
Since its cancellation in 2010, this year marks the second consecutive year the national final “Beovizija 2019” will determine who will represent Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest. The winner of “Beovizija 2019” will be determined by a split public televoting (50%) and a jury voting (50%) made up of music critics and experts. Semi-final 1 will take place tonight and semi-final 2 tomorrow, on February 28. The Serbian representative in Tel Aviv will then be chosen at the Grand Final on March 3.
Tonight’s competing acts and songs are:
- Funked Up – “Zašto da se ne desi”
- Aleksandra Sekulić – “Tugo”
- Osvajaći – “Voda i plamen”
- Dunja Vujadinović – “7”

Tomorrow’s second semi-final will determine the next set of six qualifiers for the Grand Final on March 3. In semi-final 2 returning artists will be Snežana Berić, the last representative of Yugoslavia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1992, and Nevena Božović, who represented Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö as part of the girl group Moje 3 with the song “Ljubav je svuda”. With 46 points, the group finished in the 11th place of the first semi-final and, hence, failed to qualify for the Grand Final.
