Tonight: Melodi Grand Prix 2020 kicks off with the first semi final
Tonight the Norwegian national selection for Eurovision 2020 kicks offs as the Melodi Grand Prix 2020 first semi final takes place at the H3 Arena Fornebu, and will be presented to us by Kåre Magnus Bergh, Ingrid Gjessing Linhave and Ronny Brede Aase.
This year’s edition will include 6 televised shows ( 5 semi-finals and a Grand Final). A total of 10 acts will battle for the golden ticket to Rotterdam ( 5 pre-qualified/ 5 selected via the semi-finals).Each semi final will see a number of 4 competing acts from a specific parts of Norway (Northern, Central , Western, Eastern and Southern Norway). In each semi final round, one qualifier of the two will be determined by public voting while the second one will be selected by the jury. The 2020 Norwegian Eurovision outcome will be determined by televoting 100%.
A special professional jury has already determined 5 finalists , one of which we will see today . Namely, Sondrey will take the stage to perform his entry Take My Time .
The 4 contestants of the first MGP semi final (From Southern Norway), are:
- Kim Rysstad – “Rainbow”
- Raylee – “Wild”
- Geirmund – “Come Alive”
- Lisa Børud – “Talking About Us”
Tonight we will see these acts compete in duels. The two act winners from each duel will move on the Golden Duel from which the final winner of the night will be determined. Melodi Grand Prix 2020 first semi final will start at 19:50 CET and you can watch it here
