Ukraine: Tina Carol joins Vidbir 2020 jury panel
The Ukrainian national broadcaster, UA:PBC, announced today the second juror that will take part in the country’s national selection. The Ukrainian singer Tina Karol who represented the country in Eurovision 2006 with her entry Show Me Your Love and finished 7th in the final will join Andrey Danilko, aka Verka Serduchka, in the national selection’s jury panel.
Tina stated on the fact:
I’m really happy to be part of the national jury in my country and i will share the responsibility with the rest of the team. All contestans are ready and a new talent is on the way.
This year edition of Vidbir, will consist of three show, two semi finals and one final . Vidbir 2020 is set to unfold on the following dates:
- 1st semi final: 8 Φεβρουαρίου 2020
- 2nd semi final: 15 Φεβρουαρίου 2020
- Grand final: 22 Φεβρουαρίου 2020
After last year’s unpleasant developments that led to Maruv’s entry cancellation and the Ukrainian withdrawal from the contest, this year the organisers have updated the rules in order to make things more clear to the contestants. Specifically the organisers stated:
This year’s selection will be held with renewed regulations. The terms restrict any performances of the contestants in Russia. From now on, each national selection participant can be an artist or a group that hasn’t performed at a concert in Russia since 2014 and doesn’t intend to either will announce to do so during the competition and the Eurovision final, and hasn’t entered Crimea’s territory breaking Ukraine’s law.
