Ukraine: UA:PBC will take part in Eurovision 2022

The Ukrainian national broadcaster,UA:PBC, has confirmed that it will be participating at Eurovision 2022 next year in Italy. 

UA:PBC has officially confirmed to ESCToday that the country will be present at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Italy next year.

Following the good result in Rotterdam brought by the band Go_A, the national broadcaster will probably remain in the national form of choice used in previous years. However, more details on the Ukrainian selection for Eurovision 2022 are expected in the coming weeks.

Ukraine in Eurovision

Ukraine has been taking part in the Eurovision Song contest since 2003 and has won the contest two times, in 2004 with Ruslana and 2016 with Jamala.

Since the introduction of the semifinals in 2004, Ukraine is the only country outside the Big 5 to have qualified for the final of each Eurovision in which they participated.

Ukraine has a total of seven places in the top five, with Verka Serduchka (2007) and Ani Lorak (2008) both finishing second, Zlata Ognevich third (2013), Mika Newton fourth (2011) and Go_A fifth ( 2021).

This year Ukraine represented by the band Go_A who sang ‘Shum’ which finished 5th place with only 364 points.
