United Kingdom: Robbie Williams wishes to compete in Eurovision

BBC semi-final commentator Scott Mills stated that Robbie Williams has revealed to him in an interview that he wants to represent the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest. As the radio producer says:

“Robbie Williams is a great fan of the institution and I do not think he is joking. It would be amazing as he is a great artist. Such a great artist will make other stars interested in the institution and thus change the perception of Eurovision in the UK”.

“If we all examine the competition as artists from Sweden and Scandinavia in general, then other great artists will take part. Indeed, it is not something to be ashamed of. We can win in the future, just need some changes that are already taking place”.

However, this is not the first time that the artist publicly declares his love to the contest but also his desire to take part in. In 2016, in his statement, he wanted to represent Russia after the spectacular appearance, as Sergey Lazarev said, and that his appearance would be in a similar style.

Do you think a big name like Robbie Williams will be able to bring the UK back to the top of the contest? The last time the country came to the top of the big final was in 2009 with Jade Ewen and the song “It’s My Time” by award-winning and world-renowned composer Andrew Lloyd Webber.
