United Kingdom: These are the 5 backing vocalists for Michael Rice
The five backing vocalist that will alongside with Michael Rice on the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 stage in Tel Aviv, have been unveiled.
Through his social media accounts, Michael Rice has revealed the five backing vocalists that will be contributing to his performance of the UK’s entry “Bigger than us” in the Grand final of the 64th Eurovision Song Contest. The five singers that will join Michael on stage are:
- Anna Sahlene – Represented Estonia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002
- Melanie Wehbe – Swedish singer and one of the songwriters behind Denmark’s entry “Love is Forever”
- Linda Pritchard – Participated in Melodifestivalen 2006, 2008, 2010 and 2011
- Desta Zion Wilson – Singer and guitarist from Bermuda
- Chin Simon – Singer and songwriter

The U.K entry in Eurovision 2019
Michael Rice won the British national final with the song “Bigger than us” . The song is a ballad with soul and gospel elements and one of his composers is John Lundvik , Sweden’s representative in this year’s contest with the song “Too late for love”. The rest of the composers are Laurell Barker, Anna-Klara Folin, Jonas Thander.
Michael is 22 yo from Hartlepool in Northern England. He participated in the British x-factor show in 2014 during which he was eliminated in the bootcamp stage. He got a lot of fame after his participation in march 2018, in the BBC series of “All together now“, are show during which the contestant has to convince a panel of 100 judges to sing along with him. He won first prize and the amount of £50,000.
