Moldova wins the INFEVision Video Contest 2020 with Sasha Lopez & Misha Miller’s song ‘Smoke Me’

Moldova is the big winner of INFEVision Video Contest 2020 with the song “Smoke Me’ by the duo Sasha Lopez & Misha Miller. 

This year’s edition was launched in the first days of October with INFE Romania revealing the INFEvision 2020 slogan “Riding the Ages” . From that point all INFE clubs were given a period until end of October to confirm participation to the host country.  A  total of 19 countries around the globe will eventually be participating in this year’s contest, which is a new record number for the comeptition itself after last year’s 18 countries.

NATIONAL JURIES RESULTS

In the national juries voting, which was made up by the votes coming from all participating national INFE Clubs Moldova came 1st with 149 points followed by the USA with 109 points and Turkey’s  3rd place with 96 points. Here are the overall results of the jury voting:

ONLINE VOTING RESULTS

The jury voting was followed by the ONLINE voting results, the votes that came internationally from all fans across the globe. In this voting Czech Republic came 1st with 129 points, Turkey 2nd with 122 points while Georgia closes the top 3 with 112 points. Here are the overall results of the Online voting:

FINAL SCOREBOARD

Once all votes from the two bodies were added Moldova was crowned winner with 229 points leaving second Turkey with 218 points and in 3rd place the USA with 202 points. Here is the final overall scoreboard of INFEVision Video Contest 2020:

About Sasha

Sergiu Istrate (b. October 17 , Chisinau ), known by his stage name Sasha Lopez , is a musician , composer , DJ and music producer Romanian native of Moldova , who currently lives and works in Bucharest , Romania.

He started playing music as a child, and at the age of 17 he became a professional DJ in the “Star Track” club in Chisinau . The clubs “CITY”, “PEOPLE” and “Studio”, top clubs from the capital of the Republic of Moldova, followed. He graduated from the High School of Music and then graduated from the Faculty of Management at ASEM .

In 2010 Sergiu Istrate decided to move to Bucharest. It was launched with a new project – SASHA LOPEZ. In an interview, he said that the idea of this name was offered to him by Tudor Ionescu from Fly Project , with whom he is friends. Also in 2010 Sasha Lopez released the song “MADAM”, feat And Adam. His second single – “All My People”, became the most broadcast Romanian song at the end of 2011, according to Mediaforest Romania. In a short time, it reached number 1 in over 20 countries in Europe, Canada, Latin America and Asia.

By the end of 2013, Sasha Lopez had managed to garner 200 million views on YouTube , two gold records: in Canada and Japan ; and over half a million copies of digital singles sold with “All My People.” In 2012, the Rio Carnival was opened on his song ” All my people “. Collaborations with famous names such as Radio Killer (for “Perfect Day”), Tony T (ex- RIO ) and Big Ali followed . He was nominated at the Romanian Music Awards 2013 in the category “Best DJ”, for the song “Beautiful Life”, recorded in collaboration with Tony T. and Big Ali.

In 2015, his song “Kiss U” reached number 1 in Italy and Spain, this being the first song released on a new record label – Global Records. Also in 2015 “Koukou Move” is in all the charts in Asia, the song reaching viral on youtube with a fun dance and repeated by all children worldwide. 2019 The song ‘Sun’ reaches n 1 in Bulgaria, top 5 Greece and top 3 Shazam.

A charismatic appearance, Misha Miller presents an incredible mix of a powerful voice with mesmerizing features. Misha was singing since she was only a child, with her unique presence helping her stand out from the very beginning.

Congratulations to Moldova and the local INFE community run by Eurovision Moldova for their video choice. The administrative team of INFE Moldova has already confirmed after their victory that they will host the next edition of the contest, INFEVision 2021!! Meet you all again in Moldova!!
